Below, you will find answers to many of our most frequently asked questions. Most of these questions are ones that have been asked by new residents, just like you! We encourage you to explore these questions, and their answers, before contacting the Department of Housing and Residence Life. However, we do recognize that some of you may have specific questions not answered here or questions that are unique to your situation. If so, please do not hesitate to contact us for assistance.

What can I do to my room to personalize it?

What is the smoking policy in the Residence Halls?

All public areas in UNC Charlotte's residential facilities are designated smoke free spaces. This includes apartments (all rooms including individual bedrooms), suites (all rooms including individual bedrooms), highrise bedrooms, all common areas, such as lobbies, stairwell, fire escapes, elevators, bathrooms, laundry rooms, hallways, and floor and building lounges.

All persons at the University share the responsibility of adhering to and enforcing the smoking policy.

Violation of the policy may subject a member of the campus community to disciplinary action appropriate to his or her status as faculty, staff, or student. READ MORE...

What utilities am I responsible for in the Residence Halls?
