Check-In Dates & Times

• Thursday - August 21st - 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM
• Friday - August 22nd - 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM
• Saturday - August 23rd - 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM
• Sunday - August 24th - 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM

HOMEpass, Housing and Residence Life's electronic pre-check-in service, is designed to reduce your time waiting in line, to make check-in easy and convenient, and to get you into your new room as quickly and completely as possible.

By completing HOMEpass prior to your arrival on campus, you will be able to bypass some of the lines in the check-in process that require you to fill out forms.

To use HOMEpass, simply log back on to the Nyumba Student Gateway beginning August 1, 2008 for the Fall 2008 semester.

Late Arrival Instructions

If students cannot check-in by Sunday, August 24 at 5:00 PM, they MUST contact the Assignments Office. Students who fail to claim their housing assignment by that date and time will be considered a "No Show" and their housing assignment will be cancelled (financial charges apply).

Students who plan on arriving late should send a letter, e-mail, or fax with their full name, UNC Charlotte Student ID Number, expected date and time of arrival, and contact telephone number for questions or other follow up. This documentation should be sent to the Assignments Office.

Check-In Locations

Special Check-In Instructions for C.F. LYNCH, HOLSHOUSER, MOORE, & SANFORD HALLS

Due to anticipated crowds of close to 500 incoming students trying to move in to each of C.F. Lynch, Holshouser, Moore, and Sanford Halls on Thursday, August 21 we have scheduled specific check-in times.

In addition, check-in for both Moore and Sanford Halls on Thursday and Friday, August 21 and 22, will be held in The Rathskellar, which is located in the Residence Dining Hall close to those buildings. On Saturday and Sunday, August 23 and 24, check-in for Moore Hall will be in the Moore Lobby and for Sanford Hall will be in the Sanford Lobby.

For your convenience and ease in moving your belongings to your room, please make every effort to arrive at the time noted on the check-in schedule for your room.

As you make your travel arrangements to UNC Charlotte in August, please make sure you incorporate your specific check in time.

Your specific check-in time can be found by logging back into the Nyumba Student Gateway and going to your assignment for the Fall semester. Your specific check-in time will be listed there. These times are ONLY for use when moving in on Thursday, August 21. Click here to see how to do this and what to look for.

If you are unable to arrive on Thursday (or prefer not to and avoid the crowds!) you may check in during the days and times listed above.

If you know that you must check in late, please follow the instructions above so we can make special check-in arrangements and hold your housing assignment for you.
