QUIET HOURS
Please keep your fellow students in mind during this crucial time. Beginning at 7 pm on Wednesday, December 5, and continuing through 8 pm on Friday, December 14, quiet hours will be maintained 24 hours per day both inside and outside the buildings of all residential areas.
Failure to abide by quiet hours may result in disciplinary action.
MAKE YOUR PLANS NOW!
All Residence Halls will remain open over Winter Break. Students will only have access to the building in which they live. If you are leaving housing or moving to another room within housing, please plan to leave within 24 hours after your last exam or by 9:00 am on Sunday, December 16, whichever comes first. You will be charged $100 per day or part of a day if you fail to check out on time.
CONGRATULATIONS to All Graduating Seniors!
Commencement is on Saturday, December 15. Graduating seniors may stay in campus housing until 9 am on Sunday, December 16.
LEAVING CAMPUS HOUSING?
Remember...if you do not intend to return to campus housing for Spring 2008, you must move out of your current room before you leave for Winter Break, no later than 9 am on
Sunday, December 16th. Be sure to check out and cancel your contract!
CHANGING ROOMS?
If you processed a room change for Spring 2008, don’t forget that you must be completely moved out of your current room no later than 9:00 AM on Sunday, December 16.
If your new room is available before December 16, you will be contacted to coordinate your check-in.
If your new room is not available before you depart for the break, you will be able to place your things in storage until you move into your new room. If you need to store anything, please contact the Residence Coordinator or Graduate Assistant in the area to which you will be moving. Storage will be done by appointment ONLY, so be ready to set a time to bring your things and then be on time when you go. Please do not place anything of great value into storage, as Housing and Residence Life takes no responsibility for repair/replacement if valuables are broken or lost after they have been placed in storage. Take your valuables home, and bring them back in the spring.
Staff will NOT be available to check anyone in while the University is closed December 22, 2007 through January 1, 2008.
You may be able to move to your new room between December 17–21, 2007 OR January 2–5, 2008. All moves during this period must be between 9 am – 5 pm and by appointment.
EXPRESS CHECKOUT
If you are leaving campus housing or moving to another room, the Department of Housing and Residence Life recommends Express Checkout. With Express Checkout, you do not need to be present for the room inspection process. We will inspect your room after you leave campus. The best news is that you do not lose your appeal rights.
Simply pick up an Express Check-out envelope from the display in your residential area and follow the instructions.
If you are leaving campus housing or moving to another room, you can pick up and return your Express Checkout envelope at the following locations:
- Hunt Village residents pick up envelopes in the Holshouser lobby;
- Martin Village and Phase III residents pick up envelopes at the mailbox area in "P" Building;
- Residents of Oak, Elm, Maple, and Pine pick up envelopes at the Oak front desk;
- Residents in all other areas pick up envelopes at the front desk of your building.
Again, remember… you must move out of your “old” room no later than 9 am on Sunday, December 16th.
