Social Programs

Helping residents get to know one another is an important part of the Housing and Residence Life mission. As such, a diverse array of social programs are planned to provide opportunities for residents to build connections with the community on their floors and in their buildings.

Educational Programs

Educational programs are central to the mission of the Department of Housing and Residence Life. These activities are planned to encourage out-of-classroom learning to provide opportunities to heighten awareness and understanding of themselves and others.

Leadership Opportunities

When you live on campus, you are automatically part of the extended UNC Charlotte community. Through organized groups, you have the opportunity to shape and influence your living environment and lifestyle.

Resident Students Association
When you live on campus, you are a member of the Resident Students Association (RSA). Each Hall/Area Council sends representatives to RSA meetings. RSA serves as the representative body for all residential students and plans a variety of social activities throughout the year. To get involved, contact RSA at (704) 687-3772, stop by their office in the Cone Center, or visit their website.

Hall/Area Councils
Each living area has its own governing body. Hall/Area Councils consist of officers elected by the residents of each living area. The primary function of the council is to provide leadership and coordination for area programming and to represent the issues and concerns of residents. Each council position offers students outstanding opportunities for leadership experience. If this sounds interesting to you, contact your RA, RM, GA and/or RC for more information.
