In the Scott Hall Lobby
Operation ID - Bring your valuables to the Scott Hall Lobby to get identification engraved on them… this may be the difference in them being returned to you if they are lost or stolen! A variety of safety resources will also be available!
September 9th from 5 until 7 pm
In the Laurel Hall Lobby
Operation ID - Bring your valuables to the Laurel Hall Lobby to get identification engraved on them… this may be the difference in them being returned to you if they are lost or stolen! A variety of safety resources will also be available!
September 10th at various times
Preparedness Day - The Campus Warning Siren and Text Messaging Alert System will be tested. Also, the Crisis Management Team will conduct a drill in the Emergency Operations Center.
September 10th at 7:00 pm
In Lynch Hall Classroom
Friends Helping Friends - What to do when crisis hits! A discussion about how to identify when our friends are experiencing crisis and how to help get them the assistance they need!
September 11th at 7 pm
In the Holshouser Hall Basement
Alcohol Jeopardy: One Drink, Two Drink, Three Drink, Floor - A look at alcohol use and abuse on campus and education on ways in which you can learn to drink more responsibly if you or your friends choose to drink.
September 11th from 8 until 10 pm
In the Oak Hall Lobby

September 15th

Fire Extinguisher Demonstration - This demonstration will consist of hands-on fire extinguisher usage as well as information on the types, uses, and limitations of fire extinguishers.

10 – 11 am in the quad area between Scott and Holshouser Halls

1 – 2 pm in the quad area between Lynch and Laurel Halls

Healing Hands: Helping Friends Cope with Relationship Violence - A discussion about recognizing relationship violence signs and striving for healthy relationships.

In the Witherspoon Hall Lounge (3rd)
Sex: What’s Your Position? - What is sex? What are STIs and how can you prevent them? What birth control method is right for me? Get these questions answered and many more.

September 24th 8 until 10 pm
In the Hickory Hall Lounge

Operation ID - Bring your valuables to the Hickory Hall Lounge to get identification engraved on them… this may be the difference in them being returned to you if they are lost or stolen! A variety of safety resources will also be available!
Date, time and place to be announced Rape Aggression Defense Class - This class is part of a national program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques taught for women only. All courses are taught by nationally certified R.A.D. Instructors. The goal of the 9 to 12 hour class is to provide realistic self-defense options to women, regardless of their level of physical conditioning.

All Month Long…

There are several programs that will be conducted at various undisclosed times throughout the month … these include Residence Hall Fire Drills, the “Stop Thief Campaign” in all parking lots and decks, and “Gotcha” Program in all residential areas. Watch for details!

These programs are co-sponsored by: UNC Charlotte Police and Public Safety, the Dean of Students Office, the Department of Housing and Residence Life, the Wellness Promotions Department, the Office of Disability Services, the Safety and Environmental Health Office, and the Counseling Center.
