Peter E Thorsett

As the Associate Director for Technology Services, Peter is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day I.T. operations of the Department. He is also responsible for coordinating long-term technology strategy. Peter is also responsible for the Department's marketing programs.
Peter joined HTS in 2004 from Georgia State University's College of Law where he was the head of their Web & Instructional Technology unit. Peter has over 10 years of experience in corporate and higher education information technology. He holds a BSBA in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee, an MBA in Electronic Commerce/Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University, and is currently writing his dissertation as part of his Instructional Technology Ph.D. candidacy at Georgia State.
Peter is active in the higher education technology community. He has served as President of the Management Division of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) and has presented or published research on technological issues with organizations such as the American Association of Law Libraries, the Southern Industrial Relations and Human Resource Conference, the Organizational Behavior Teaching Society, and the Center for Computer Assisted Legal Instruction. He holds active memberships in AECT, AERA, OBTS, SPSP, ISACA, and ACUHO-I. |

Adam moved to HTS in 2005 after working as a facilities student assistant for a year and a half in the Department's Facilities Management area. Mr. Drye is responsible for all of the hardware, network services, and support functions within HTS. Adam holds a BSBA in Management Information Systems from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. |

Jean has been a member of Housing and Residence Life for many years, having started in Facilities Management in 1989, and later working in the Assignments Office. Jean brought this tremendous wealth of organizational awareness to the HTS team when she joined our team in 2003. Jean holds a Bachelor of Science degree from East Carolina University and has completed graduate work at the Master's level, also at East Carolina University. |

Thomas L. Crast
Desktop Support Specialist

Thomas joined HTS in February of 2008 as our Desktop Support Specialist. He has a BSBA in Business Administration with a minor in Management Information Systems, from Alfred University in upstate New York. At Alfred, he was a Student Technical Assistant for their ITS department, and has a lot of experience supporting faculty, staff, and students in a university environment. Working with the Infrastructure Manager, Thomas is responsible for hardware, network services and support for Housing staff. Thomas will also handle secondary response to the help desk operation. |

Joshua joined HTS in 2002 as a student assistant supporting our Residential Computer labs and The Miner Movie Channel (Channel 15). Today, Josh works as a full-time employee on our primary web applications (the Nyumba Gateways). Josh holds a BSBA in Management Information Systems from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. |

Chad Morgan

Chad joined HTS as the team's Database Administrator. Prior to joining HTS, Chad worked in the private sector in a post-sales support role building, deploying, and assisting customers with automated tool management systems and their related databases. As a member of our team, he is responsible for overseeing our various databases and reporting systems that are used by the Department and its partners. Chad holds a BSBA in Computer Information Systems from Appalachian State University. |

Carolyn joined HTS in 2007 as the team's Help Desk Analyst. Prior to joining HTS, Carolyn worked with the University's Office of Student Success and Retention supporting the administration of the Learning Community program. Today, Carolyn is responsible for overseeing our help desk operations as well as coordinating the development and delivery of our staff I.T. training programs for Housing specific applications. Carolyn is a certified Training Manager (The Training Clinic, 2008). |
