We know that you have a lot on your daily to do list as a student here at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. But, did you know that there are several computer policies that you must follow as a resident of on-campus housing? Did you know that these policies are incorporated into your Contract for Residential Services as well? They are!

To help you get a quick glance at what these policies are and how to make sure you do not end up in the hot seat for not following them, we have prepared this page to help you. We encourage you to read the full policies as well and if you have a question or concern about what the policy means for you, please feel free to contact us to set up an appointment to discuss it.

In order to provide a stable and secure network environment for all of our customers on our TimeWarner Road Runner network, please note the following:

• We do not allow the operation of servers, web hosting, or other services on our network nor do we allow commercial transactions (i.e. running a business) to be conducted over our networks.
• We do not allow the operation of wireless hubs, routers, gateways, or switches on our networks.
• We do not allow the operation of wired hubs, routers, gateways, or switches on our networks.
• We do not allow game consoles to be connected to our network.
